Dirt 2 was boring. It was no different than any other racing game and certainly didn’t have the appeal of a Need for Speed or Burnout. There were limited track choices. And, while you could certainly unlock a few tracks, we couldn’t stick with the game long enough to get them.

You do get to choose your favorite car depending on the type of race and the terrain. But the Wii remote doesn’t make the control of the car easy, and it seems to be overly sensitive. So I ended up banging into the guardrails over and over.

If you’re looking for a good racing game, Dirt 2 is not one of them. And, it didn’t hold my son’s attention for more than 20 minutes

It allows you to choose your favorite team and uses those team colors for your backgrounds and menus. It also, of course, lets you choose which teams to play.

The controls are great, and while its not as life-like as Xbox360 and PS3, its still loads of fun for kids and adult football fans alike!

No matter how old you are or how much you know about football, anyone can play because it gives you choices of plays, and you can even “Ask Madden” to have him give you the best play available. There are Advanced playbooks for those NFL pros.

There are plenty of game options including online play, 4-player mode (which is great when you have friends over or perfect for Thanksgiving), and Road to the Superbowl.

We love this game because its simple enough for the kids, but entertaining enough for the football men of the house.

Make sure you grab a copy of Madden NFL 10 because this is the best football game of the year!

Tiger Woods 10 for the Wii is a hit in our house!  The graphics are great. The control is the best yet, and Tiger Woods 10 is a favorite of my son’s.

With the new Wii Motion Plus, you now have more control over your swing than in any other golf game. This makes the game far more realistic and handles every little subtlety in your swing.

One of the coolest features of Tiger Woods 10 is the real-time weather. If there is rain at the actual golf course that you decide to play on (in the game) at the time you are playing, it will display the exact same weather on your screen! It’s amazing!

Multiplayer support for up to 4 players online and locally is one of the nicer features of Tiger Woods. I like to play (and I don’t play golf in real life), and my son frequently plays with his friends.

Tiger Woods 10 for the Wii is one of the best games of the year. There are games that are fun for a moment or fun for one member of the family, but this one is fun for everyone (including Dad!) and allows for all types of playing with online play, multiplayer support, and 27 different courses to choose from. We highly recommend Tiger Woods 10, especially with the Wii Motion Plus!

But, I’d have to say that other racing games, like Mario Kart, are more fun. Admittedly, we are not NASCAR fans, so that aspect of the game is lost on us. You can choose to drive as one of your favorite NASCAR drivers and familiar race cars. But, with only 6 tracks to choose from, Mario Kart, is a new experience every time.

Nascar Kart Racing does have special options as you race to throw an oil slick, slingshot around the track, or even launch a rocket.

There are a few mini games as well, but overall, if you are not a NASCAR fan, then you’d probably be happier with Mario Kart for a family racing game.

All your favorite characters are back including Glass Joe, King Hippo, and Little Mac. You have the option to fight up to 13 different characters, and each has its own special attacks. You can learn each fighter’s weakness to defeat them.

My son and I were not huge fans of Punch-Out despite the rave reviews this game has received. Perhaps you have to be a fan of the original to truly appreciate the updated game, but neither one of us have played this on the old Nintendo system, so it was all new to us.

There is a multi-player option, which is always more fun than playing alone. But, one of the drawbacks is the lack of online fighting.

I enjoyed the Wii Sports boxing just as much as this game, so for us, Punch-Out was just more of the same.

The Punchout graphics and the characters are admitedly more interesting than regular boxing. I guess it comes down to a love for the old school game. If you played Punchout back in the 80’s, this version is even better. But, if you haven’t, it might not be worth th extra money if you already have Wii Sports.

Mario Power Tennis is another one of the Mario Wii games that’s fun for kids of every age. Choose from any of your favorite Nintendo characters, use their special powers, and play tennis like never before.

If you’ve played tennis through Wii Sports, then you may find Mario Tennis more difficult to control. And, it doesn’t seem to detect the amount of power you put into your swing, and for this reason my son was less than impressed.

It does have a multiplayer version which is fun, and the character’s special powers make it more interesting. There are even special, mini games that one player can try that add more to the game than simple tennis.

My son gave Mario Power Tennis 2 out of 5 stars, even though the other Mario games like Super Sluggers and Mario Kart are among his favorite Wii games.

My son loves this game, and could spend hours at it. The object of the game is to kill all your opponents through sniper shooting, handgun shooting, and even hand-to-hand combat. You can pick up guns and ammo along the way and switch between a multitude of different types of firearms.

It’s certainly not as much fun as the movie was. There’s no challenges to conquer, or puzzles to solve. It’s a straight-up shooting game. There are several different environments from which to choose from, and my son has even found a few glitches in the game, and found other worlds where no enemies are found.

There is an online option where you can play in teams, so it is a new adventure each time. The multiplayer version of the game splits the screen and makes it difficult to see enough of the scene. And , the graphics are one of the best features of this game.

Speaking as a mom, I can’t stand to hear this game in the background – it’s loud, and all you hear is the gun reloading and firing constantly. I make my son turn the sound down when he plays.

I can’t recommend this one, but my son certainly would! If you want to buy this one, make sure you adhere to the Teen rating.

For the single player game, the player is taken through an adventure game through mazes and old and new scenes to defeat the bad guys to get to the end.

The multiplayer game allows you to choose a character and battle your friends and family. Each character has its own unique set of abilities and fighting moves. And, you can choose from a wide variety of environments.

Super Smash Bros Brawl is a great Wii game for the whole family, and one that the kids will find fun in a day, a month, and a year from now.

Its rated E10, but honestly I don’t see why a younger child wouldn’t love this game. In fact, my son, who is 11 years old, thought it was a little too easy for him. There are spoken and written instructions to guide you through the adventure, where to go next, and how to use the Wii remote to accomplish the tasks.

You can even play in multiplayer mode, but only in the minigames. I would have liked the ability to take part in the adventure as one of the other characters in multiplayer mode. You can choose between any of your favorite characters including Sid, Manny, Diego, Scrat, and the newest character Buck.

Kids can save up their accrued points and unlock different mini-games, which is always fun. Gives the kids incentives to keep going, so they can try something new.

The game even allows a place to enter cheat codes.

The creators of Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaur have thought of everything (with the exception of the multiplayer adventure game), making this a wholesome family game that everyone will love!

Its rated Teen for mild language and violence, but it was challenging enough that only teens could effectively solve the puzzles and advance in the adventure. My 11 year old son spent hours trying to solve the puzzles and figure out how to conquer each challenge. Keep the level of game playing in mind as you choose Indiana Jones for your kids. If they’re too young, or an inexperienced gamer, they may become frustrated quickly with this game.

I really liked this game because it wasn’t simply a fighting game. It’s not just one fo those mindless punching and kicking games with incessant button pushing. This is a smart game that can capture the attention of kids, while holding the interest of adults.

You can use Indy’s famous whip to take down the bad guys, which is more fun than the standard fight moves. And, the Wii remote and nunchuk allow for more ways to interact with the game and feel more in control.

There are several interestingenvironments including river rapids, a jungle, a temple, and even flying a plane. I’ve heard the graphics are better on the 360 and PS3 (but which games don’t have better graphics on those systems), but the Wii interactivity far outweighs any graphics loss.

Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings is highly recommended for older kids and their parents )
