Punch Out Review

punchoutPunch-Out is back after its first debut 15 years ago, and this time its back with all the controls the Wii gives us. You hook the nunchuk to the Wii remote, and you have full punching and maneuvering control over your guy Little Mac.

All your favorite characters are back including Glass Joe, King Hippo, and Little Mac. You have the option to fight up to 13 different characters, and each has its own special attacks. You can learn each fighter’s weakness to defeat them.

My son and I were not huge fans of Punch-Out despite the rave reviews this game has received. Perhaps you have to be a fan of the original to truly appreciate the updated game, but neither one of us have played this on the old Nintendo system, so it was all new to us. Read More …

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs for Wii

Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs for WiiIf you love Ice Age, the movie, (and, who doesn’t love these characters) then you’ll love the video game for Wii. Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaur is an adventure game as a single player where you follow the clues and solve the puzzles to advance in the game.

Its rated E10, but honestly I don’t see why a younger child wouldn’t love this game. In fact, my son, who is 11 years old, thought it was a little too easy for him. There are spoken and written instructions to guide you through the adventure, where to go next, and how to use the Wii remote to accomplish the tasks.

You can even play in multiplayer mode, but only in the minigames. I would have liked the ability to take part in the adventure as one of the other characters in multiplayer mode. You can choose between any of your favorite characters including Sid, Manny, Diego, Scrat, and the newest character Buck. Read More …
